We have been covering the northwest corner of the San Gabriel Valley since 2009. After the loss of a few important news sites in this area, we decided it was time to strike out on our own.

The Rose Examiner provides a smattering of uncommon culture, events, places, and people in the Pasadena area and some of the most thorough year-round coverage of the Tournament of Roses on the web. The site is not designed to be hyperlocal news, but rather to present original pieces that pique our interest, engage readers all over the country and to provide information that they can use.

It is our hope that both locals and visitors will feel welcome on these pages.
